EEE department awarded £16700 funding from UK Aid for the TEA-LP program

EEE department of IUB has been awarded £16700 funded by UK Aid in the TEA-LP program in collaboration with University of Cape Town (UCT) of South Africa.

The Transforming Energy Access (TEA) programme is a research and innovation platform, funded by UK Aid, supporting the technologies, business models and skills needed to enable an inclusive clean energy transition and achieve SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. The Transforming Energy Access–Learning Partnership (TEA-LP) is part of the TEA programme, aiming to support higher education institutions to bridge the skills gap in the rapidly-growing energy access sector, and to provide graduates and professionals with the knowledge framework, skills and competencies to make a significant contribution to increasing energy access in their country. There are 23 new universities from Africa and Indo-pacific region are joining with UCT as partner universities in the program this year and IUB is the only university from Bangladesh. Prof. Dr. Khosru Mohammad Salim of the EEE department is the project lead from the IUB side.

The EEE department of IUB will adapt two of TEA-LP new energy access elective courses into the MSc in EEE program and deliver each course to at least 18 students (in one or two cohorts) at least one month before Project End Date (December 2025). TEA-LP Course #1 should be selected as a precursor course for those students wishing to undertake Course #2.
