EEE Students visit Energypac Engineering Limited in Baroipara, Savar, Dhaka.

IEEE Power & Energy Society IUB Student Branch Chapter (IEEE PES IUB SBC), IEEE IEEE Industry Applications Society IUB Student Branch Chapter (IEEE IAS IUB SBC) and Department of EEE, IUB successfully organized an industrial tour to Energypac Engineering Limited on July 22nd, 2023.

More than 50 Students from selected courses along with two EEE Department faculty members, Prof. Dr. M. Abdur Razzak and Dr. Mustafa Habib Chowdhury, participated in this tour which made it a very interactive, engaging and a fruitful learning experience for the students. The students gathered effective hands-on practical knowledge from the industry experts from Energypac Engineering Limited throughout this day long tour.

Learning Outcomes from this Industry Tour:
1. Students learned and gained hands-on practical experience about the basic principles of a Distribution Transformer, Instrument Transformer, Cast Resin Transformer, transformer testing and manufacturing from the industry experts.
2.Students learned and gained hands-on practical experience about the basic principles and manufacturing of a Switchgear, Isolator, Control Panel and Power Factor Improvement Panel (PFI Panel) from the industry experts.

A strong industry academia partnership was maintained with the industry experts and the respective students and faculty members of the Department of EEE, IUB in this Industry tour. Prof. Dr. M. Abdur Razzak and Dr. Mustafa Habib Chowdhury also held a meeting with Engr. Rabiul Alam, CEO, Energypac Engineering Ltd. and discussed future collaborations and prospects of Industry-Academia partnership with Energypac and Department of EEE, IUB in the form of joint M.Sc. thesis projects and Final Year Design Projects for undergraduate students.
IEEE PES IUB SBC, IEEE IAS IUB SBC and the Department of EEE, IUB have extensive plans to conduct more engaging industrial tours in the coming days for pushing forward the Industry-Academia collaboration initiave and giving the students an understanding of real world engineering issues.
