Four undergraduate students of IUB have joined the University of Maribor in Slovenia for a semester under the prestigious Erasmus+ 2023 Mobility Program starting October 2023. Based in Slovenia in Central Europe, the University of Maribor has been named among "The Best Universities in New Europe in 2018" by the Times Higher Education Magazine. It's also among the top 10 research-intensive universities from the new European Union (EU) member states.

The four IUB students are Tanfia Khan Disha, from the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology; Imtiaz Uddin, from Anthropology; Umme Tasfia, from Accounting; and Nayeem Ahmed, from Finance. Tanfia and Imtiaz have received Full Grant Scholarships, covering tuition fees, accommodation, and monthly stipends, while Tasfia and Nayeem have secured tuition fee waivers. Out of the six campus locations of University of Maribor, this group will be based in Maribor and Kranj cities.

Tanfia is an advocate for sustainable living and aims to make a positive impact in the Development field. Her goal is to contribute to healthcare advancement in Bangladesh and beyond. She is keen on experiencing cultural diversity, experiencing the natural beauty of Slovenia, and making new friends while attending this program.

Imtiaz is an introspective thinker with a profound interest in human history and psyche. His choice of Anthropology was driven by a desire to understand people and their stories. He aspires to become a psychologist, delving deep into the human condition and connecting with individuals. Imtiaz also has a passion for literature and is eager to explore European literature during his time abroad.

Tasfia is a passionate advocate for numbers and accounting. She has demonstrated her leadership and teaching abilities at IUB. Beyond academics, her heart belongs to classical singing and performance. Her dream is to work for renowned companies like Google or Apple while pursuing advanced degrees in Accounting. Tasfia has been deeply inspired by the stories of Erasmus+ alumni from IUB, and is looking forward to expanding her career horizons through this opportunity.

Nayeem’s journey marks the fight against the fear of math to become a Finance major. He's a fitness enthusiast, a football player, and a lover of the great outdoors. His aspirations include dominating the field of Corporate Finance and representing Bangladesh as a global citizen.
