The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) recently hosted a heartwarming gathering as they welcomed back esteemed alumni from the EEE and ETE programs. The event, held on October 5, 2023, brought together alumni from batches '04 to '18.
All the senior faculty members of the department of EEE were present at the event. The Dean of the School of Engineering, Technology and Sciences (SETS), Prof. Md. Mamun Bin Ibne Reaz, gave his remarks, extending a warm welcome to the attending alumni. The Head of the Department, Prof. Feroz Ahmed, shared his remarks during the event and expressed his gratitude to the alumni. Prof. Khosru M. Salim, Prof. Md. Abdur Razzak, Prof. Shahriar Khan, and Dr. Mustafa Habib Chowdhury also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the alumni and had a fruitful discussion.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the event saw a strong turnout of 50 enthusiastic alumni who have gone on to make significant contributions to various renowned engineering industries. The primary objective of the meetup was to gather valuable feedback on the department's curriculum in preparation for the accreditation process by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE)
The success of the event was greatly attributed to the hard work and dedication of the event organizers, Navila Rahman Nadi (Senior Lecturer) and Nazmus Sakib (R & D Officer) at the EEE department. Their tireless efforts in coordinating the event, reaching out to alumni, and ensuring everything ran smoothly were instrumental in making the gathering a meaningful and productive experience.
The event not only served as a platform for alumni to reconnect but also aimed to strengthen the bond between the department and its former students. It allowed alumni to explore potential collaboration, including internships, job placements for graduating students, industrial visits, collaborative seminars, and career workshops.
The EEE/ETE Alumni Meetup in Autumn 2023 was a resounding success, fostering a sense of community and partnership between alumni and their alma mater, and setting the stage for future initiatives and collaborations between the department and its accomplished graduates.
